Famous Cars, The 10 Most Popular Cars on TV and in Movies

Cars are rarely the star of the show, but there are always cars that steal the spotlight and take the glory for themselves. Here are 10 of the most popular cars on TV and in movies, cars that are legends in their own right:

Aston Martin DB5 - This 1964 car was featured in the James Bond movie "Goldfinger", and it was the car that made headlines as the perfect James Bond car. Since that day and up until just a few years ago, James Bond only ever drove the Aston Martin - a top car thanks to its 282 HP engine, 4 liter, 6-cylinder engine, bulletproof glass, machine guns, and radar (the last three don't come with the regular car).

DeLorean DMC-12 - Marty McFly and Doc Brown drove through time in this 1981 car, and you will find that it's definitely a car that belongs on this list. Its engine is a hybrid that uses nuclear and electric power, the doors are gull-wings, the car actually runs on trash and can fly! The manual transmission had 5 speeds, the car ran in rear-wheel drive, and it was the first car with a flux capacitor.

Ferrari 250 GT - This 1961 car was featured in the movie "Ferris Bueller's Day Off", and the cherry red exterior, Cameron-sized tonneau compartment, and wire grille definitely sets it apart from the rest. The car had 280 HP, a 12 cylinder engine of 3.0 liters, a four-speed manual transmission, and rear wheel drive.

Cadillac Ambulance - "Ghostbusters" made this 1959 car famous, even though it didn't have the most prominent role in the movie. The car has 325 HP, a 6.4 liter V8 engine, and rear wheel drive. Don't forget the sleek tail fins, the sires and flashing lights, as well as the ladder attached to the side!

Mini Cooper S - The movie "Italian Job" made this little 2003 car famous, especially when it showed the drivers plowing through the ample hallways of a palatial mansion. The little cars were central to the plot of the movie, and their 163 HP, 1.6 liter 4-cylinder supercharged engine and front wheel drive made them a car worthy to be driven by the thieves - not to mention the fact that they were 200 pounds lighter than the regular model.

GMC Vandura G-Series G-1500 - "The A Team" was a TV show that was incredibly popular in the 1980s, and this 1983 van was the car that made it possible for them to be the crack commando unit they were. The van had a V8 engine that could run up to 350 HP, as well as a fully automatic Ruger rifle loaded with 5.56x45 mm rounds. The black, red, and grey paint is still a signature in the world of cars.

Ferrari 308 GTS - The man with the mustache Tom Selleck made Magnum P.I. a show that thrilled generations, and his sleek car was just as memorable as his chest hair and short shorts. This car had an engine with 255 HP, and the TV show rocketed this car to fame overnight.

Volkswagen 1200 Beetle - Herbie the Beetle in "Love Bug" was a 1964 model of this car, and the little car that would piss oil on you as soon as race became a sensation. The car is made by the chief designer of Porsche, and the powerful little car is as practical as it is reliable.

Ford Lincoln Futura - Adam West is one of TV's most famous Batman actors, and his Batmobile was the 1955 model of this car. The car is modeled after a mako shark and a manta ray, and its sleek looks are peerless.

Pontiac Trans Am - K.I.T.T. was the 1982 car that could talk to his driver - David Hasselhoff in his young days - and the car was built for power. It could go from 0 to 60 in.2 seconds, and its 8-speed manual transmission was supercharged for maximum power. Providing useful articles, reviews and writings on movies and films online.

Is Television Positive or Negative for Our Society?

In society, television can be positive or negative depending on the different views. I will consider various aspects of television, like watching for leisure, for news and generating jobs, in addition to becoming addicted, and trash TV ads. I am going to analyse the arguments for and against television.

Many people believe that television is a good way to relax because they can sit with friends and watch it together. My friends and I are hooked on an American series called 'Awkward', a romantic comedy, and I usually talk about it with them. It's a good way to share our interests. In addition, TV helps me stay in touch with world news. When I want to know something important or spend time, I usually turn on the small screen and watch the news. It is often very interesting and it is inevitable that you will learn something new. I think that the television industry is very special. This industry generates jobs and income for the economy. Television has existed for less than 150 years, so I think it's very inspiring that the industry is so large and includes many different people in the work. It is an industry through which thousands of people have jobs that otherwise would not be available.

Furthermore, there are many disadvantages of television also. First, there is too much junk on the TV. Every time I turn on the idiot box, the first thing I see is a contest to win money. Today it seems that all channels have only gossip programs and competitions stupid. It's a shame that art well done program dies. We live in a materialistic society that likes to watch TV is useless because an escape from their own lives. In addition, television ads are very annoying in my opinion. Interrupt programs too, especially in Spain and in America, because they are very long. Also affect children and parents have no control over the types of ads that their children watch.

There is another problem with television when parents do not block the channels that show inappropriate content. Increasingly, there are violent or sexual movies during the day, so if parents do not censor those channels and care for their children they may have their children becoming addicted to the wrong type of programs. Despite this, I do not think censoring is effective because people can search for what they want on the net. Parents would also have to censor certain websites to make this ban on television effective. Finally I think it is horrible that in England it is imperative that people have to buy the public channels if they want to watch them.

My conclusion is that the key problem is today's society. The popularity of these programs depends on the viewers and it is shown that all programs inappropriate content or people who make bad decisions. I suggest that if people watch less TV in general and focus on socializing, then everyone would be healthier mentally and would watch less trash on the boob tube. I do not like television because it has a negative and addictive impact on society. Providing useful articles, reviews and writings on movies and films online.

Movie Review: "Page Eight"

Rating: PG, Length: 99 minutes, Release Date: June 18, 2011, Directed by: David Hare, Genre: Drama/Mystery.

"Page Eight" is a political drama produced by the BBC as a made-for-television film. David Hare, well known as a British television writer, is the writer and director of "Page Eight." The primary cast members include Judy Davis, Ralph Fiennes, Michael Gambon, Tom Hughes, Bill Nighy, and Rachel Weisz. "Page Eight" debuted at the Edinburgh International Film Festival. It was later broadcast on BBC Two, BBC HD, and PBS.

Johnny Worricker (Bill Nighy) is an officer in MI5, the British intelligence service. His boss is Benedict Baron (Michael Gambon), the Director General of MI5. Baron is married to Johnny's ex-wife and is raising Johnny's daughter as his own. Baron, just before he dies of a heart attack, passes over a report to Johnny. Johnny notices a potentially explosive passage on page eight. This passage mentions that Americans are torturing prisoners in overseas prisons with the knowledge of the British government.

Johnny infers that Baron wanted him to make the report public, but MI5 officer Jill Tankard (Judy Davis) disagrees with this course of action. Tankard is working directly for the Prime Minister, who wants the report buried. The Prime Minister also promotes the Home Secretary to Deputy Prime Minister in order to buy her silence about the report. Johnny later discovers that Tankard has been using her son to keep tabs on Johnny.

Meanwhile, Johnny gets to know his neighbor Nancy Pierpan (Rachel Weisz), whose brother was killed by the Israeli Army with the help of an MI5 agent. The audience is left guessing about the exact nature of the relationship between them, although it seems as if it is staged. Furthermore, it is clear that MI5 is monitoring their conversations.

Johnny is eventually forced to leave his job in order discover the truth about the report. He disappears, leaving a painting with Nancy. She later hears a news broadcast announcing that the British government knew about the circumstances of her brother's death. She knows that Johnny has leaked the information to the press and realizes that the painting Johnny left her is a clue to his whereabouts.

"Page Eight" explores the distrust that typically exists between the public and politicians. It does this by looking past the headlines on torture and prisons that were especially common when the film was made. Most films in this genre include car chases, explosions, shoot-outs, and assassinations. Hare keeps this film firmly grounded in the real world, so the characters only resort to violence when all else fails.

Hare does not fill the script with light banter or use any lines containing real warmth. The carefully stylized nature of the film means that it carries little emotional content. This is most apparent when Johnny critiques his daughter's painting. Many directors would use this scene to illustrate the bond between father and daughter, but Johnny describes the painting as if he were a professional art critic.

The acting in "Page Eight" is consistently excellent, especially that of Fiennes as the despicable Prime Minister. The ideas in the film are complex, and do not underestimate the viewer's intelligence. The cast members clearly enjoy the subtle dialogue and direction of the film, although many moviegoers will be accustomed to films with faster pacing.

This film has two primary story lines that mingle together as the film moves forward. Two of the subplots revolve around the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and Nancy's brother. The first main story line is about Johnny's personal life, which is almost nonexistent due to his inability to trust anyone. For example, he is extremely suspicious when Nancy shows an interest in him. This prevents the relationship from developing into a romance, and instead restricts it to a mutual friendship.

Johnny's inability to express himself with any emotion ensures that he is unlikely ever to fall in love. His relationship with Nancy is primarily based on a fondness for arts and culture. Johnny's least serious relationship is with Baron, who teases him affectionately.

The other story line in "Page Eight" follows Johnny's professional life as he deals with the possibility of the Americans extracting information through torture. This part of the film shows that the torture itself is not as alarming as the fact that it has been officially acknowledged. "Page Eight" shows a government plunging into moral bankruptcy, as Johnny tries not to fall in line with this thinking. Johnny must remain grounded while resisting the pressure of the bureaucracy around him.

Watch the trailer for "Page Eight" here. Rating: 4 out of 5. Providing useful articles, reviews and writings on movies and films online.

Movie Review, Atlas Shrugged: Part II

Ever since watching Atlas Shrugged: Part I, I couldn't wait to watch Atlas Shrugged: part II. In case you have no idea what these movies are about, they are based on Ayn Rand's epic ground-breaking novel, Atlas Shrugged. Ayn Rand published her novel in 1957. Since its publication, this novel has been the catalyst for inspiration and controversy ever since. I must confess that I had never heard of this novel before the movie came out. Now that I've watched both movies, I definitely want to read Rand's work.

Rand's theme in the novel is each person's individual achievement in the world and how success should be perceived in relation to the good of mankind. The author explores what would happen when the success and achievements of individuals is stifled and they are devalued-even made to appear as heartless, greedy individuals... all because they believed in the capitalism and the American dream-to work hard and succeed.

The characters are complex and Rand's theme may seem intellectual and possibly "boring;" however, as the novel translates to the movie, the characters come to life in a compelling way. The plot combines inspirational ideas, drama, romance and the mysterious character of John Galt. I loved the character of Dagny Taggart. She is a woman who knows what she wants. Not only is she beautiful, but she is also intelligent and gutsy. She stands up for her principles in a world devoid of men and women of true character.

Dagny embraces the values of capitalism and knows that this system is what can and will save the world that is on the brink of economic disaster. The Government and its micromanagement is not the catalyst for rebirth of a society built upon individual rights and the opportunity to follow your dreams for success. Your success can be shared with the world, but on your own terms and not because the Government wants to steal it from you. That is tyranny, not a free society.

The male lead character is Henry Reardon. His philosophy was to succeed in business and make money. He was not afraid to admit that he was in business to earn a living. Of course he wasn't a selfish man who didn't care about humanity. However, he realized that capitalism was the answer and it was his right to work hard and succeed in life. He would not bow down to the politicians and Government bureaucracy who wanted "to steal" from his business and devalue his rights as a businessman. The villains in the movie aren't your usual "evil" bad guys but rather wolves in sheep's' clothing.

This is definitely a must-see movie, especially if you value your freedoms and believe in the Constitution and what our Founding Father's wanted for America. For details on the movie: Atlas Shrugged: Part II. Providing useful articles, reviews and writings on movies and films online.

The Business of Movie Theaters: Films or Food?

Not so long ago people went to the movies to, well, see the movie. Now it's almost as if the movie has become secondary to the food and arcade games that most theaters have on offer. Montreal, as was the case in most cities, had its fair share of movie theaters - we didn't call them cinemas, to us they were movie theaters, plain and simple - both in the downtown core and in the suburbs.

These were often elaborately designed single-screen theaters showing films every night and offered matinees on the weekends and during school holidays. I recall the price being 75 cents before seven o'clock at which time the cost of admission shot up to a whopping $1.25! For that princely sum movie patrons were treated to a cartoon - usually a Blake Edwards'Pink Panther short which worked well in Montreal as it could be used in both French and English theaters given the lack of dialogue - in addition to the main feature.

But the price is not the issue; the price of everything has gone up over time. What has changed is the focus from movie house to all round food and entertainment center. Not all that long ago your admission fee got you into the theater to see the movie. There were, of course, snack bars where you could buy soft drinks, popcorn, candies and chips. But these were just for convenience because many people, perhaps most, brought their own snacks to the movie. I'm not talking about smuggling in contraband Twizzlers or Reese's Pieces, sneaking past ushers who look like they want to pat down movie goers. The goodies people brought to the theater were most welcome; after all they had paid their admission. It was a movie theater, not a restaurant - it was a Bring Your Own Food establishment

Movie goers would bring in, openly and honestly, snack items such as a box of a dozen Dunkin' Donuts and Dairy Queen milkshakes. Others brought submarine sandwiches or even hamburgers. Some folks even made special snacks at home and, along with a thermos of coffee settled in to enjoy the movie and munch on a ham on rye.

These days the film is almost an afterthought; once you get past the vast array of food on offer at exorbitant prices and run the gamut of the umpteen video games in the lobby, you can finally settle down to watch the feature.

The Movie business has changed. Long gone are the days when movie theaters were in the business of selling admission to films and providing convenience snack bar counters, but were BYOF! Providing useful articles, reviews and writings on movies and films online.

Pre-Movie Entertainment

An outdoor movie night is the perfect way to entertain families. If you have carefully chosen the movie for the event based on who will be attending, your event will almost surely be a success. What about before the movie begins, though? Guests will arrive at different times, and many will come early in order to secure a good spot. This is where pre-movie entertainment comes in.

Plan to begin pre-movie entertainment about an hour before the movie is scheduled to begin. Activities before the movie starts will keep the crowd engaged, especially young children, who are likely to grow restless while waiting. Adding entertainment to the event also enhances the experience; instead of simply coming out and seeing a movie, movie night turns into a full evening of family fun. Families heading to events like this are looking for an affordable way to have fun as a family, and keep everyone entertained; offering entertainment in addition to the movie is a great way to meet these expectations for families.

What type of entertainment should you plan for your outdoor movie night? This depends, in part, on the movie you are showing, and the demographics of the expected crowd. Bounce houses, face painting and carnival games are excellent choices for family friendly events, where children will be present. Be sure to plan ahead to ensure the success of these activities. During the summer months, especially, you will need to reserve a bounce house ahead of time to ensure availability. If you are planning to rent any special concession equipment such s a popcorn machine, be sure to reserve those items ahead of time as well.

Concessions are appropriate for any event, and many guests will want to purchase snacks before the movie begins. Popcorn is a classic movie snack, others to consider include candy, and popsicles for summer movie nights.

Consider planning themed entertainment for an especially memorable experience. If you are showing an Ice Age movie, for example, consider bringing in a snow machine.

Pre-movie entertainment is also a great way to raise some money to help cover the production costs for the movie night. You can charge reasonable prices for snacks and small fees for carnival games to keep it affordable while raising money.

Hosting a successful outdoor movie event takes careful thought and some time spent planning ahead. From choosing a movie, promoting the event, securing the equipment and preparing the venue, there is a lot of work that goes on behind the scenes to make these seemingly simple events successful. Putting in a little bit of extra effort to plan some pre-movie entertainment is worth the additional time and planning. Entertainment will set your movie night apart from other outdoor movie events and give attending families a special night to remember. Providing articles, reviews and writings on movies online.

HBO's Game of Thrones, As Good As The Book?

Game of Thrones is the title of the first book in a yet to be finished fantasy series by George R.R. Martin, entitled A Song Of Fire And Ice. Game Of Thrones is also a recently released game on 360 and PS3, a board game, a card game, a tabletop role playing game, a graphic novel, the subject of several iOS and Google Play apps, and an upcoming Facebook game. It's also one of the hottest IP's around right now, thanks largely in part to the wildly popular HBO program currently airing its second season, as well as the DVD/Blu-ray release of the Emmy and Golden Globe winning first season, available now.

I'll be honest. I'm a proponent of the tenet that the book is always better than the movie. Only in the cases where the book was written first, that is. If it says "The novelization based on the film" on the cover, then it's kindling. I'm snooty that way. Even when I know that the book is better, because it's always better, I'm still occasionally drawn to see a film adaptation. Maybe it's because a friend, or naive critic, says something like, "every bit as good as the book." Sometimes it's because I'm such a fan of the source material that I have to see how they butcher it with my own eyes.

Either way, whenever I see a film based on a book I've read, I always have one of three reactions: 1) Pleasantly surprised (i.e. Fight Club, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, Shawshank Redemption, The Green Mile). 2) Decidedly indifferent (Trainspotting, Stephen King's It,). 3) Desporrified, a made-up word combining despair and horrified (Breakfast of Champions, everything else Stephen King's let become a movie that's not already listed here). In every case, whether surprised, indifferent or desporrified, I still come away thinking the book is superior to the film in every way. Until Game of Thrones that is. Now my worldview has been shattered.

To HBO's credit, the show remains very true to the source material, differing on only the very slightest of details. Much of the dialogue is straight from the novel, and in retrospect the pacing of the book is almost ideal for screenwriting. This may be due to Martin's previous work as a television writer, most notably for the mid-80's revival of The Twilight Zone. From the outset, the show seems to focus on Eddard Stark, Lord of Winterfell and Warden of the North.

Early on in the series, he's tapped by his old friend Robert Baratheon, who has become King of the Seven Kingdoms, to help him rule as the king's top advisor, the Hand. Over the course of 10 episodes we're introduced to a myriad of nobles, charlatans, rogues and scoundrels, but at the close of season one it is apparent that the only real stars of the show are intrigue, the machinations of the court, and the things people will do while chasing power. Of course while people play their game, the shadow of a larger threat looms. Winter is coming.

It's hard to deny that the show is outstanding, as evidenced by the aforementioned Emmy and Golden Globe wins in Outstanding Drama Series and Best Television Series-Drama respectively. The casting is superb, and includes Peter Dinklage, who also won an Emmy for his portrayal of Tyrion Lannister, and Sean Bean as Eddard 'Ned' Stark. Bean is probably best known for his portrayal of Boromir in Peter Jackson's Lord of the Rings trilogy (Pleasantly surprised on that one, if you're keeping track).

The cinematography is excellent as well, and adds a visual element somewhat lacking in the books. Martin's writing is focused primarily on the characters, and flowery descriptions of the environments are few and far between. Largely shot in Northern Ireland and Malta, the sets and supporting shots are beautiful, and bring to life the keeps and castles in a way that Martin himself doesn't.

Although jokingly described as "The Sopranos in Middle-earth" by series co-creator David Benioff, the description is quite apt. Like Tolkien's trilogy, Game of Thrones would have to be considered "high fantasy" due to the presence of creatures of myth and mystical/magical elements. However these things play more in the background of Martin's books, as well as the show, with Game of Thrones leaning more towards the Middle Ages than Middle-earth. The Sopranos comparison is a little more apt. Like it, and many other HBO shows, Game of Thrones is decidedly adult. Nudity and gratuitous violence abound throughout the series, and are the only real source of complaint voiced by critics of the show.

However, if you're looking for a show that has all the backstabbing and violence of The Sopranos, all of the sex of Californication, and as many people covered in dirt as Deadwood, you should probably come down to Slackers and order the first season of Game of Thrones on Blu-ray or DVD today. Even if you're not looking for a new show to watch, you still need to check this one out. I can hardly believe I'm saying this, but it really is as good as the book. Silent Era's Bad Girls

Anita Page

Nineteen twenty-eight, Ann played by Anita Page. She chased men for their money and drank as much as she wanted too. In "Our Dancing Daughters" she starred along with Joan Crawford as Diana and Ben played by Johnny Mack Brown. At a time when, flamboyance was honored and women onscreen did what they pleased.

The movie also dealt with the conflict between the two women and Ben. As much as Diana loved him, she put him off with her inhibited dancing and flirting with other men. It was Ann that came to his side while Diana suffered watching the two of them together.

The movie offered the audiences then, an opening scene where a woman danced in her shimmy in front of a mirror. Also, it showed a passionate love scene at a beach. After all; it was the Jazz Age and the bad girls in movies. They enjoyed every minute of their freedom.

The movie had an interesting mix of background sound effects and recorded singing for a few of the scenes. It was still considered a silent film because the actors spoke no dialogue. A few years later, a production code limited the explicitness shown onscreen.

Gloria Swanson

Nineteen twenty-eight, Gloria Swanson starred in "Sadie Thompson." It was a compelling drama and for her a signature role. Lionel Barrymore played a reformer bent on teaching the islanders to repent their ways. It was Sadie that became his focus. In fact, he used whatever means he could to get her sent back to San Francisco.

The movie captured the idea of sin versus redemption, guilt or innocence, the temptation of lust and sincere heartfelt love. Also, the question of Sadie's past that haunted her future. But it was to Sadie's advantage that forced her to go along with the idea to repent.

She quit wearing heavy make-up, rid herself of her flashy clothes and jewelry. It was the plain Sadie that caused the reformer sleepless nights. The movie's end saw Sadie back to her old ways. However, she got what she wanted all along.

Even with the content and the threat of censorship, the silent movie was well received and Gloria Swanson became "Sadie" the bad girl making her a huge box-office star.

Greta Garbo

Nineteen twenty-eight, Greta Garbo starred in "A Woman Of Affairs." Indeed, she was. The story started out with three friends, Diana Merrick played by Garbo, Neville Holderness played by John Gilbert and David Furness played by Johnny Mack Brown. Her brother, Jeffery Merrick was played by Douglas Fairbanks, Jr.

When Neville's father sent him to Egypt in order to make money, Diana was distraught. She married David. When in Paris, he plunged out of their hotel window The question became how would such a happy man do such a thing? With her brother turning against her and also much of society, Diana spent her time getting involved in affairs with other men.

After seven years away, Diana returned to London. However, Neville married a woman named Constance. The story revolved around being so much in love while married to someone else. It was also doing the right thing for decency. At what price, they paid with their lives.

The movie was a hit only because of Garbo's portrayal of Diana. It was not so much about being bad as it was about being so much in love and what it drove her character to do. Providing articles, reviews and writings on movies online.

Waltz finds mannerisms in Alan that serve to infuriate even his wife and his smartphone is a vital prop that Waltz treasures as one would a small child, perhaps more.

The newest work of director Roman Polanski attract a lot of concern because of gathering such bright stars as Kate Winslet, Jodie Foster, Christoph Waltz, John C. Reilly. Besides, the time Roman Polanski made this film is also the time he is hunted for raping a little girl in 1977.

Penelope challenges Foster, who scrunches her face and howls, looking awfully unpleasant - Penelope is hard to like, since she instigates the key argument and shields herself with faux idealism and a striving for an intellectual appearance while nursing a mean temper. Reilly's Michael feels like a supporting performance and while Michael's scenes one-on-one with Penelope reveal a shared history, Reilly comedy chops undercut his eventual descent into a foul-mouthed fit - there is a kindness that characterizes the actor and prevents Michael from truly making a mark.

First, the accolades - outside of the first and final scenes, the film is set entirely in a single space, and the Longstreet middle class haven is a testament to how good production design (by Dean Tavoularis) can elevate a positively small set to an extension of the characters. There is a wealth of tiny fixtures that serve to underline the precision that drives Penelope, who shepherds the seemingly good-spirited mediator Michael under the auspices of making peace. Clothes tell a tale of class distinction, Michael at one point complaining, "My wife dressed me up as a liberal!," Watch Full Movie while stifling business attire immediately characterizes the Cowans. Polanski directs Carnage with a heady real-time pace that sees the four leads mark their territory (in Winslet's case, via spontaneous vomiting) and stake their ground as discussions give way to bickering, finger-pointing and finally raw, awesome vitriol.

The history of movies genuinely manage to drag us away to a different time and, for probably the most portion, teach us a bit about our ancestors- although I admit some are so awful that they teach myths rather than realities. An all-inclusive, straightforward answer is just not what I have here. You say what you consider as a movie, and I'll tell you the proper answer. The really to begin with movie ever produced could possibly be a set of moving images, or might be a full-fledged movie using a tinge of action, drama, thrill, comedy, and also a tad-bit of romance.

Movies initial had a set of motion photos, then had colours, followed by sound, and so, the enhancement occurred. Currently, it really is fairly difficult to concentrate on your popcorns when you are spellbound by the mind-boggling unique effects in movies. But which was that very first movie which was a revolution in itself? Which marked the starting from the entertainment era? I assume, the ideal technique to answer will be segregating them into various sections as follows.

It was a silent movie that depicted the history of noble and righteous king Harishchandra, recounted in Ramayana and Mahabharat. The film was released in public on 3rd Might, 1913 at Mumbai.

Because it marked the rise of Indian Film Market, the release of this movie thronged the crowd on the road. It was such a humongous accomplishment that Dadasaheb Phalke had to produce additional prints to show inside the rural areas.

This movie had all male-casts as there had been no female leads out there.

Very first Bollywood Movie with Sound

‘Alam Ara' in March 14, 1931 was the first movie with sound that buzzed the new era of Indian film Industry. It was directed by Ardeshir Irani under the production banner Of ‘Imperial Movietone'.

The movie also marked the rise of filmi music as noted by popular director Shyam Benegal mentioned, "It was not just a talkie. It was a talking and singing film with extra singing and much less talking. It had several songs and that truly set the template for the form of films that had been created later".

Very first Colour Movie made in India

‘Kisan Kanya' was a 1937 Hindi function film starring Padmadevi, Jillo, Ghulam Mohammed, Nissar, Syed Ahmed, Ghani. The film was made by Imperial Film Co and was directed by Moti B. Gidwani It is largely remembered by the Indian public on account of it getting India's 1st indigenously made colour film. The film was colored applying the Cinecolour procedure imported by Imperial Film Co. Kisan Kanya had a run time of 137 minutes

Kisan kanya was based on a novel Sadan Hassan Manto and revolved about the plight of poor farmers. The storyline in the film featured an exploitative landlord and also a fantastic peasant Ramu who's accused of murdering the landlord. This movie wasn't a large hit. It performed moderately on box-office and could not gross much profit.

To begin with Bollywood 3D Movie

‘Chota Chetan' gave the new horizon towards the new genre of bollywood movies. It was the first Indian 3D Movie. The film was produced under the banner of Navodaya Films in 1984. Chota Chetan was an enormous box workplace success. The film also won the President's Gold Medal. The movie was re-released with further footage and digital sound upgrade during 1998.
